Scarecrow Making Workshop + Display

Get creative and make your own scarecrow with Helen from the Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living.

You don't need to be a good artist or crafts person, but you need a fun imagination and the willingness to have a go. Limited places, bookings essential.

You will need to bring along:
An old pair of overalls
An old hat, pair of gloves, scarf
A pair of old pantyhose for tying
An old pillow case or a pumpkin for the head
Masking tape and glue
Paint for the face or buttons for a sewn on face
Bright coloured wool
Newspaper or plastic bags for stuffing.

Put up your Scarecrow for display at Tim's Garden Centre before you take it home to your own veggie patch!

The Macarthur Centre for Sustainable Living is a non-profit, community based education and demonstration Centre, with the aim of showcasing how families and individuals can live sustainably.

Oz-some fact: Many well known actors have brought L. Frank Baum's Scarecrow of Oz to life on screen including Frank Moore in the 1914 film His Majesty, the Scarecrow of Oz, comic Larry Semon in The Wizard of Oz (1925), Ray Bolger in the MGM epic The Wizard of Oz (1939) and Michael Jackson in the 1978 musical film adaptation The Wiz.
